Austin's city chickens (and their owners) are anxious to strut their stuff! So mark your calendar!!

Date: April 7th, 2012

Time: 10 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. **rain or shine**

Location: Coops in the Austin City Limits - Purchased maps will show coop locations.



Price: Maps will be available for $10 on Tour Day from The Information Center at Buck Moore Feed and Supply on N. Lamar. You can pre-purchase a map online for pickup at Buck Moore Feed during regular business hours before tour day or on tour day. Online map purchases are NOT available for pickup from any locations other than Buck Moore Feed prior to Tour Day or from The Information Center on Tour Day.

Breaking news: Maps are available in limited quantities for purchase prior to tour day starting NOW at Buck Moore Feed and Supply on N. Lamar and also at Callahans General Store off 183. You may want to call in advance to see if maps are still in stock. You can share the map with as many people as are in your touring party to see coops together. A portion of proceeds past expenses will benefit Green Corn Project.


Other info and activities: 2012 Limited Edition merchandise will be available while supplies last. The early bird gets the worm! There will be an 8:30 a.m. Getting Started with Chickens presentation on 4/7 at The Information Center.

Purpose: Coop Design Ideas, Promote Sustainability, Community Fellowship, and Funky Fun!

This year's coop tour promises to be the "Best in Show". Selected backyard poultry enthusiasts will showcase their coops after meeting certain criteria. Coop owners selected will represent our city as chicken ambassadors in the funkiest town in Texas!



Factoid: Austin has a strong growing community of chicken lovers and boasts the 2nd largest Backyard Poultry Meetup in the world!

Factoid: The number of coop tours since 2002 to today has increased by nearly 500%
