Factoid: Backyardchickens.com, the world's largest online community for chicken supporters, exceeded 100,000 members in the summer of 2011, doubling its membership from the previous year.
Are you interested in raising chickens? Do you need coop design ideas? Do you enjoy talkin' chicken w/folks? Do you want to show your kiddo's where eggs actually come from? Do you own chickens now and need a few new ideas to spruce up their coop?
If you've answered yes to any of the above questions, Austin's Funky Coop Tour is for you!
Austin's city chickens (and their owners) are anxious to strut their stuff! So mark your calendar!!
Date: April 7th, 2012
Time: 10 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. **rain or shine**
Location: Coops in the Austin City Limits
Price: Maps will be available for $10 on Tour Day from Buck Moore Feed and Supply on N. Lamar. Stay tuned for potential additional ticket/map sale locations. As many people as you'd like can share a map.
Purpose: Coop Design Ideas, Promote Sustainability, Community Fellowship, and Funky Fun!
This year's coop tour promises to be the "Best in Show". Selected backyard poultry enthusiasts will showcase their coops after meeting certain criteria. Coop owners selected will represent our city as chicken ambassadors in the funkiest town in Texas!
