Come join us for the third annual Austin Texas Funky Chicken Coop Tour! Have you been thinking about keeping urban chickens? Do you need coop design ideas? Then this is the tour for you! Hey, this is even for those of you that already have backyard chickens and are thinking about changing your coop design(there's always room for improvement, right?). Also, feel free to come peck(oops, meant pick ;-) our brains on raising chickens.

Nice article about the chicken coop. I had one when I was younger and fell in and had nightmares of being eaten alive by a rooster.

Yikes! Roosters can be pretty scary, with the spurs and everything. Hope you'll consider raising some nice, sweet hens instead--nothing's better than those fresh eggs!

So glad to see many chicken lovers in Austin. Too bad I live in MUD#1 and they forced me to send away my 5 beautiful hens. (the MUD board members said Chicken will lower property value) This event will help people understand that chickens are just as good as any household pet, the only difference is that they can lay egg!! As we can see from the tour, chicken doesn't lower property value!!
April 3rd is Easter weekend. Any chance that it will get changed to a different weekend?
The decision to have the tour on Easter weekend was kind of a tough one, but we thought having it on the Saturday before Easter might mean more people have a three-day weekend and are in a mood to be out and about. It's so hard to schedule outdoor events in Austin--who knows what the weather's going to do?
Anyway, that will be a decision we'll revisit for next year--we're really too close to the date to change it now.
